Post Show

My first art show is done, the one unsold painting is back in my hands, and I’ve deposited the check for the two that sold. Which means I’ve now officially earned some money with my art. And I’m still painting, still both learning and having fun, and I’ve been looking for other opportunities to get my paintings in front of other people. I missed the member show this year due to being out of town, but the submission deadline for the next one is coming up in less than two weeks. I have at least two pieces that might work as submissions and I technically still have time to paint at least one more submission for “Her Art/Their Art” but I’d need to have my plans in place for that by the end of the week.

And here’s a test. One of the pieces that is the most obvious to include is a self portrait and it feels quite vulnerable. I’m also not entirely sure I want to sell it. That would feel very strange. I think that means I ought to go ahead and submit it. I think about it over the next few days.

I make art, I fence, and I’m always in search of another great book to read. Life is good.
